Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth
34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, “You also were with Jesus of Nazareth.”
6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.
5 They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
Jesus said to them, “I Am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.
7 Then He asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?”
And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—
10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.
38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
8 So I answered, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said to me, ‘I Am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.’
9 “I used to think that I should do everything I could against Jesus from Nazareth.
The Nazarenes or the Christians ??
Yeshua (Jesus) was a Nazarene
19 Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
20 saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.”
21 Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee.
23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”
I think we can also call Yeshua (Jesus) “the Nazarene”.
The word “nazarene” means simply someone from the city of Nazareth.
Shaul (Paul) the ringleader of the Nazarenes
Acts 24:5 (NKJV)
5 For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect (a.) of the Nazarenes.
(a.) In other english translations:
heretical sect, division- producing sect, seditious sect, faction, party, (religious) group, cult.
Those who follow Jesus of Nazareth
The NIRV Bible (New International Reader’s Version) translates this verse very very good: ”…those who follow Jesus of Nazareth.”
Acts 24:5 New International Reader’s Version (NIRV)
5 “We have found that Paul is a troublemaker. This man stirs up trouble among Jews all over the world. He is a leader of those who follow Jesus of Nazareth.
The Nazarene group/ a group called Nazarenes
”The Nazarene group” or ”a group called Nazarenes” is also a good translation-
easy to understand.
Acts 24:5 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) & ICB, NCV
5 This man is a troublemaker. He causes trouble with the Jews everywhere in the world. He is a leader of the Nazarene group.
Acts 24:5 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
5 This man has been found to be a real pest and troublemaker for Jews all over the world. He is also a leader of a group called Nazarenes.
Jewish Yeshua (Jesus) and Another Greco- Roman Christian Jesus
It is no secret that Yeshua (Jesus) was Jewish and that His early followers were from the same background.
A cursory reading of the four Gospels shows the Teacher and His disciples thoroughly embedded in 1st century Jewish life.
Their travels took them around Roman-dominated Promised Land, of which Judea and Galilee were major regions.
Here Jewish people flocked to hear Yeshua (Jesus) teach—sometimes in synagogues, sometimes by the lakeside, sometimes in the countryside, sometimes in the Temple.
The cycle of Sabbaths and the Feasts of the Lord observed by the Jews as part of the way of life and Law commanded by the God of ancient Israel was central.
On the other hand we have some maybe the biggest lies in Christianity:
the false teachings of replacement theology, Church age or Church covenant and once saved always saved- just a few to mention.
Link to –> Short explanation of the name Yeshua
Yeshua (Jesus) and His first disciples were Jews and their scriptures (the Old Testament) was Jewish and their conception of the Messiah was Jewish.
According to the Bible, the Congregation was born and organized itself 50 days after Yeshua`s Jesus’s death on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit did descend onto Yeshua`s (Jesus’s) followers.
A little bit later, the gift of the Holy Spirit poured out on the Gentiles (non- Jews) also.
Christianity has for centuries avoided that heritage.
Followers of Yeshua (Jesus)
But neither Jews nor later Gentiles know the name Christian(s) or use it to describe followers of Yeshua (Jesus).
Also Yeshua (Jesus) did not say:
“you have to become Christian” or
“You have to convert to Christianity”.
Yeshua (Jesus) did say: “You have to born again” !!!!

Early followers of Yeshua (Jesus) were persecuted for their faith by both Jewish and Roman leaders.
In 64 A.D., Emperor Nero blamed Christians for a fire that broke out in Rome.
Many were brutally tortured and killed during this time.
Under Emperor Domitian, it was illegal to follow Yeshua (Jesus).
If a person confessed to be a follower of Yeshua (Jesus), he or she was executed.
Starting in 303 AD, the followers of Yeshua (Jesus) faced the most severe persecutions to date under the co-emperors Diocletian and Galerius.
This became known as the Great Persecution.
The Christianity- a totally new religion
So, where are the Christians ????
Nowhere, nowhere, nowhere and nowhere.
The Christianity or the Christians did not exist so early !!!!
The Roman Emperor Constantine had a problem.
What was he to do with the followers of Yeshua (Jesus) who were spreading rapidly ??
They did keep their strong faith even if they were tortured and killed.
He realized that he cannot stop them.
He did not join them but he did make a new religion around another Greco- Roman Jesus beside them.
The Roman Emperor Constantine established himself as the head of the church around 313 AD, which made this new “Christianity” the official religion of the Roman Empire.
Constantine envisioned Christianity as a religion that could unite the Roman Empire, which at that time was beginning to fragment and divide.
Somehow, the Christianity served as a revitalization movement that arose in response to the misery, chaos, fear, and brutality of life in the urban Greco-Roman world.
As head of this new church, Constantine merged Christianity with pagan beliefs, myths and traditions to be suitable as many as possible.
The bloody Catholic Crusades
In 380 AD, Emperor Theodosius I declared Catholicism the state religion of the Roman Empire.
By the way; the word catholic literally means “universal” which describes something for everything or everyone.
Just like The One World Religion nowadays…
The first actual Pope in Rome was probably Leo I (440-461 AD), although some claim that Gregory I was the first (590-604 AD).
The Pope (or earlier Bishop of Rome), operated as the head of the Roman Catholic Church.
Millions were killed during the bloody Crusades (1095 AD- 1230 AD) and after that the Roman Catholic Church’s power and wealth increased.
It’s said that history is written by the winners- but their way.
As far as Christianity’s story is concerned, the “winners” were not the earliest followers of Yeshua (Jesus) but those who created the Christian religious establishment in succeeding centuries.
The Christianity today
Today, Christianity is the most widely practiced religion in the world with more than 2 billion followers.
But nothing else; just a religion.
There are numerous denominations within Christianity, many of which differ in their interpretation of the Bible and understanding of the church.
The Christianity also has many sects having differing views, uphold separate traditions, and worship in distinct ways to be suitable as many as possible.
We have been schooled in the idea that Christianity is Law-free and that Christians are no longer under the yoke of the Jewish Law.
A notable actor in the move to free the developing religion from its Jewish background was the 2nd century heretic Marcion (of Sinope), who sought to remove anything related to the Old Testament and any perceived Jewishness from Christianity.
Marcion held to many errant views, but he is primarily known for his belief that the Old Testament Scriptures were not authoritative for a Christian.
He also denied that the God of the Old Testament was the same God presented in the New Testament- from Marcion’s perspective, literally two different gods.
Marcionism lives more or less strongly even today.
The lesson to be learned from Marcionism is that we have no right to act as editor of God’s Word, but we must accept and believe the whole Bible.
Also, in the 2nd through 4th centuries began the reinterpretation of Yeshua Messiah`s (Jesus Christ’s) teachings and watering down the Bibles.
All of this leads us to the conclusion that the Congregation Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) founded and the 1st century apostles expounded is very different from those that developed over time and claimed to be the “true church”.
Both Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) and that early Congregation would have a difficult time recognizing the institutions that bear His name today.
People through the centuries have sought little by little to cheat God out of Christianity- and succeeded quite perfectly.
Illegal to own or read the Bible
This ungodly and unbiblical system eventually ushered in the darkest period of history known to man, properly known as the “Dark Ages” (500-1500 AD).
Through popes, bishops, and priests, satan ruled first Europe and then the world, and nearly anything biblical became illegal- for example it was illegal to own or read the Bible.
I repeat: it was illegal to own or read the Bible.
The word Christian(s) or Christianity in the Bible ??
I have asked myself many times could the word Christian(s) or Christianity be in the Bible ?? The answer is no.
For my opinion words Christian(s) or Christianity CANNOT be in the Bible.
In the time of Yeshua/ Jesus and the first Apostles there were no Christians yet-
it was too early for a new religion.
The only one Congregation was born and organized itself 50 days after Yeshua`s Jesus’s death on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit did descend onto Yeshua`s (Jesus’s) followers.
Too early for Christians
The religion Christianity was not born until later…about 300AD- 400AD.
This is also a very important case because one of the greatest lies of satan is that (all) Christians go to heaven.

3 verses and different translations
Acts 11:26, Acts 26:28 and 1 Peter 4:16
Lets look a little bit closer those 3 verses on my mind and in the Bible:
Acts 11:26, Acts 26:28 and 1 Peter 4:16.
The word Christian(s) was not in the initial Bibles because Yeshua/ Jesus did not come to institute a new religion Christianity- the Roman Catholic Church did it later.
The only one Congregation was born and organized itself 50 days after Yeshua`s Jesus’s death on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit did descend onto Yeshua`s (Jesus’s) followers. Human beings cannot add anything to that incident !!
Although, nearly all (but not all !!) english translations use the word Christian(s) in Acts 11:26/ 26:28 & 1 Peter 4:16.
I dont know exactly what the word was but it had to mean Yeshua`s (Jesus`) followers or disciples or believers of Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ)- my opinion.
I think the word was/ is ”the Nazarene(s)”- people who followed Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth.
Paul was ”a leader of those who follow Jesus of Nazareth” or ”a leader of the Nazarene group” or ”a leader of a group called Nazarenes”.
The Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) uses the word “Christ-follower(s)” instead of Christian(s).
This is more right and quite good translation because people followed Messiah/ Christ.
Acts 11:26 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
26 When he found him, he brought him to Antioch. They stayed there a whole year. Every time the church came together, Barnabas and Saul met with them and taught many people. It was in Antioch that the followers of the Lord Jesus were called “Christ-followers” for the first time.
Acts 26:28 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
28 King Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think you can persuade me to become a ”Christ-follower” so easily?”
1 Peter 4:16 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
16 But if you suffer because you are a “Christ-follower,” don’t be ashamed. You should praise God for that name.
Messianic primarily means “a follower of the Messiah” or ”anointed one” or “of the Messiah”.
The Complete Jewish Bible uses the word Messianic.
Acts 11:26 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
26 and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. They met with the congregation there for a whole year and taught a sizeable crowd. Also it was in Antioch that the talmidim for the first time were called “Messianic”.
Acts 26:28 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
28 Agrippa said to Sha’ul, “In this short time, you’re trying to convince me to become Messianic?”
1 Peter 4:16 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
16 But if anyone suffers for being Messianic, let him not be ashamed; but let him bring glory to God by the way he bears this name.
Christian churches today
If you go nowadays to a Christian church or event, you will not find Yeshua (Jesus) there.
You will not find salvation or water baptism and the Bible is just a book among books.
Hell and sin is not mentioned and without speaking is also repentance.
So sad but true…
Be strongly blessed in Yeshua`s (Jesus` s) name !!!!
